Arm with severe Psoriasis for the article Greg’s own Psoriasis tool kit

Hey Everyone! – This is Greg here, at Canna CBD.

Some of you may know, that I myself suffer from Psoriasis. I have had it now for 13 years,
and being only 25 at the time of writing, that’s a good chunk of my life battling with itchy,
dry and flakey skin. *gross*

One of my favourite products in the Canna CBD range, is the skin cream. Developed pretty
much for me, this skin cream is one of the best I have personally tried, to ease the flare ups
of psoriasis.

And so, I thought I would share some of my own personal tricks to aide everyone
who suffers from what can only be described as a nightmarish condition that affects you
not only physically but mentally.

CBD is a great way of maintaining your body’s natural health, putting you back to how you should be,
and Psoriasis itself is an autoimmune disease, where the bodies doing “too much” to combat
life’s little annoyances.

Therefore, if you suffer from Psoriasis or Eczema – here’s my advice as a long term sufferer:

Moisturisers have a half-life of about 1 to 2 hours. Much like radioactive waste, it becomes
less effective the longer its applied, by a factor of 50%.
For every 1 to 2 hours its applied, its 50% less effective than it was before.
So the best thing you can do, is moisturise your scaley bits 4 to 5 times a day.

To combat this, whilst you sleep, I would strongly recommend clingfilm wraps. If it can
keep your salad from wilting, it can also keep all the good bits of moisturiser intact over night
or underneath your clothing.

Canna CBD’s Skin cream lasts about 3 hours before the need to apply again to
damaged or distressed skin.

PUVA Pride!

Find your nearest phototherapy clinic, and get an appointment at all costs.
Here in the UK, the sun shines for around 5 minutes a decade, and we need all the UVB we can get.
UVB is the radiation from the sun that’s a shorter wave length than UVA, this means it can
penetrate the outlayer of skin, and start doing its magic to the underlying layers.

This means its not something to mess with, as the chief cause of skin cancer and sunburn, UVB
exposure is serious business, and should be administered by a professional and not from a DIY UVB lamp.
And I’m talking from experience, I purchased a UVB lamp and sat under it for 6 weeks, timing each
exposure to the second. All I got was sunburn… Itchy, red, sunburn…

PUVA UVB therapy is usually 3 times a week, and takes 15 to 30 minutes total,
Available on the NHS so its well worth it.

Also; if you’re a serious sufferer you can also have bath PUVA therapy; where you get dunked
into a bath tub full of magic stuff that makes you a vampire, all sensitive to sunlight etc. which
makes the PUVA sun chamber thing, much more effective.

Diet, including things you smoke.

We all know smoking is bad for you, as is takeaway foods and other bad substances, this does not
help you skin. Your skin is the largest organ you have, so treat it like your heart.

Smoking is a great aide for stress relieve, I too am a smoker. Stress causes psoriasis…
So its understandable that a lot of fellow Psoriasis sufferers smoke and drink, and eat junk foods.

Stop it.
Just stop it now.

Now that’s over with – You’ll be more stressy for a week, but afterwards you’ll be fine.

Cut out the junk food, ignore your skin for now, go exercise and find a new outlet for this new
found positivity. Because you are doing what you thought was impossible.

Change your diet for the better; I’ve heard from a lot of people that have cleared up their psoriasis
that introducing ginger and lemon infused water 3 times a day (about 1.5 litres) helped improve their skin dramatically. I’m in the process of upping my own intake to 3 litres, to see if that can help shift my own scales.

Talk to people

Don’t hide it away, and let it fester. This stuff hurts, we know it does, it rips open and bleeds
and is unpleasant. Don’t be ashamed of it, be proud of the fact your body is so good at fighting
off illnesses and stuff, it doesn’t know how to stop.

It’s a battle to keep it under control, and it is one you will eventually win. But remain mentally
strong, and you will find your own cure.

In summary:

Moisturise, cut out the crap and be positive.

It sounds ludicrous on paper, but give it a try for a few months and please do let me know how you get on, because I bet you will feel personally a lot better and so will your skin.

I do sincerely hope this will help, and remember a little bit of CBD can go a long long way!
